Nicole Johnson

About this speaker

Nicole Javanna Johnson is a graduate of NYU with a bachelor's degree in ethics, management & production from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Nicole has worked for Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Community Affairs Unit, the Department of Health, and the Department for the Aging as a Community Coordinator administering educational resources and training for health and wellness. In 2019, Nicole worked as a consultant for the New York City Department of Education and continues her partnership with 15 educational organizations, schools, and city institutions to administer health and wellness programming for young adults, teachers and youth. Nicole is also completing her master's degree at NYU in education policy & health & wellness optimization. She also serves as a guest teacher at NYU addressing issues of community organizing, community health, wellness, divergent thinking and leadership.

Nicole is Founder & Creative Director of Javanna Productions, a non-profit arts and education company with upwards of 650 members of all ages in 16 states and nine different countries www.proudtobeamover.com. Javanna Productions provides community leaders with the resources, funding, and platforms that are needed to produce socially responsible artistic films, shows, galleries, programs, events and fundraisers. Annually, Javanna Productions presents a community driven effort entitled M.O.V.E. (Motivation Opportunity Vision Entertainment). In this assembly, members are encouraged to produce artistic pieces and events (films, visual art, performance art, music, spoken word, classes, workshops) that raise funds and awareness for a variety of social issues, causes, and non-profit advocacy programs.
